President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said at Astana International Airport, who arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit.
From the moment the Sultan of Oman’s aircraft crossed the country’s border until it reached the capital’s airport, it was escorted by fighter jets of the Kazakhstan Air Force.
A guard of honor and the presidential orchestra were lined up on the airfield to welcome the distinguished guest.


The two leaders then held a brief conversation in the airport’s arrivals hall.
The Head of State welcomed the Sultan of Oman’s visit, emphasizing its historic significance for the development of bilateral relations.
“Oman is well known as a successful state that has achieved significant results in economic development and plays a very active and constructive role as an international mediator. Your country enjoys a well-deserved prestige not only in its region but also far beyond its borders, including in Kazakhstan. I am convinced that the partnership between our countries holds significant potential which remains to be fully unlocked and effectively implemented,” the President said.

Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said thanked Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the warm welcome and expressed confidence that the upcoming negotiations would be substantive and successful.
The visit program includes high-level talks, the signing of a number of important documents, as well as the participation of the two heads of state in the Kazakhstan-Oman Business Forum.
