Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Gabrielius Landsbergis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, who arrived in Astana on an official visit.
During the meeting, they discussed the prospects for the development of Kazakh-Lithuanian relations, focusing on strengthening trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as interaction within the international organizations.
Welcoming the Lithuanian diplomat, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that Lithuania is a close partner of Kazakhstan in the Baltic region and the European Union.
The President stressed the importance of intensifying intergovernmental cooperation and enhancing partnership between the business communities of the two countries in transport and logistics, construction and manufacturing industries.
Gabrielius Landsbergis conveyed to Kasym-Jomart Tokayev the warm greetings and best wishes of Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda and underlined that Lithuania considers Kazakhstan as a leading trade and economic partner in Central Asia.
President Tokayev and Minister Landsbergis also exchanged views on pressing issues of the international agenda.
