During the visit, the President met with representatives of ethnic associations, creative intelligentsia and Afghan War veterans of the West Kazakhstan region.
In his speech, Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed the importance of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan.
“Sustainable development of the country is only possible in an atmosphere of respect and tolerance. I always repeat that Kazakhstan is making progress exclusively due to the unity of its people. We are standing on the threshold of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. We are blessed to be the children of those who won. We should respect our veterans and educate our young people in the spirit of respect to history. This year we are also commemorating a number of other important dates,” he noted.
The meeting participants on behalf of all ethnic groups thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for the peace policy, massive business opportunities and the government’s efforts aimed at improving wellbeing of the nation.
