Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized the exceptional importance of building an equitable social policy, especially in relation to people in hard life situations. The President also noted the need to urgently introduce a unified social card using a digital platform.
The meeting heard the report of Labor and Social Protection Minister on the situation with the provision of targeted social assistance.
- A lot of work is being done in this significant area, which has improved the position of socially vulnerable population groups. At the same time, numerous cases of violation of the procedure for granting the assistance have been revealed, including the use of fraudulent schemes, which led to the unplanned increase in budget expenditures, Berdibek Saparbayev reported.
Following the meeting, with the view to avoiding misuses in this area, the Head of State instructed the Labor and Social Protection Minister to take urgent measures to streamline giving targeted social assistance, and also gave a number of specific instructions to the Presidential Administration and the Cabinet.
