K.Tokayev, Chairman, the Senate of the Parliament, S.Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, A.Torkunov, Rector of MGIMO, P.Shodiyev, the member, Board of Directors of ERG, and K.Abdrakhmanov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, have attended the meeting.
During the conversation, the Head of State noted the special status and authority of MGIMO among diplomats and employees of foreign affairs agencies.
- MGIMO has always been a special educational institution, and many people aspired to enter it. Now the rising generation longs for studying there. We have established effective ties with MGIMO and the Moscow State University, with its affiliated institution functioning in Astana, the President of Kazakhstan said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev dwelt on the issue of strengthening interstate dialogue, and stressed the need to attract diplomatic personnel to the further work of the Eurasian Economic Union.
In turn, the meeting participants noted the magnitude of the IV International Forum of MGIMO alumni held in Astana and its role in strengthening diplomatic relations between the states.
