The heads of central and local executive authorities, government and public figures, famous scientists, representatives of culture and sports took part in the meeting held within 25 stellar days "The Great Steppe Country - 25 Principles of Independence".
During the event the Secretary of State pointed out that the current year is remarkable for the vivid historical event; it is the 25th anniversary of Independence. G.Abdykalikova underlined words of the Head of the State: "We should hold sacred symbols of our independence. Every citizen should hallow the flag, emblem and the anthem of Kazakhstan. That is the pride of our nation!"
The Commission heard the reports of the ministries for foreign affairs, information and communications, culture and sports, as well as the mayors of Almaty, Karaganda and East Kazakhstan regions. The commission members gave consideration to the practice of using symbols of state and the use of legislation in that area.
Following the meeting, specific instructions have been given to the state bodies and akimats.
