In his address, President announced his decision to relieve Kairat Kelimbetov of his post as the Chairman of the National Bank. In this regard, Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed the upper house of Parliament with a request to approve the candidature of the acting Assistant to the President - Head of the Social and Economic Monitoring Division of the Presidential Administration Daniyar Akishev as the Chairman of the National Bank.
The President of Kazakhstan highlighted the expertise and experience of the candidate in the field of finance.
“Daniyar Akishev graduated with honors from the Kazakh State Academy of Management. More than 18 years he worked at the National Bank, including seven years as the Deputy Chairman. Currently, he is working at the Presidential Administration. He has comprehensively studied the economic state of our country and has a great understanding of the situation in general,” he said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized that the National Bank is the most important element of the control system in the sphere of public finances.
“Today, public confidence in the Bank and the national currency has reduced. The country has a shortage of tenge. It is necessary to work on changing these indicators. I am confident that the education and experience of Daniyar Akishev will help him to cope with this task. I ask the Senate of the Parliament to support my decision for the benefit of the financial system,” he maintained.
