President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated participants at the ceremony marking Rescue Worker’s Day and expressed his gratitude to all personnel serving in the emergency response sector.
In his remarks, the Head of State emphasized that rescue workers are rightly regarded by the people of Kazakhstan as peacetime heroes. He highlighted their courage, professionalism and unwavering commitment to saving lives and protecting people from danger.
“Being a rescue worker is an honorable mission that commands public respect. However, we must not forget that dedicated service in civil protection is a task that not everyone can undertake. Above all, a rescue worker is a patriot who cares deeply about the country and a highly qualified professional,” the President said.

The Head of State noted that over the past five years, Kazakhstan’s rescue services had responded to more than 750,000 emergency calls and assisted approximately 240,000 people.
He underscored the importance of introducing advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to improve disaster prevention and response. Over the past three years, nearly 3,000 units of equipment, including modern aircraft, helicopters and specialized vessels, had been acquired, while around 60 fire stations and rescue facilities had been built.

President Tokayev also highlighted the importance of strengthening industrial and mining safety, improving protection in remote rural areas, and providing rescue personnel with modern equipment, professional training and safe working conditions. He instructed the Government to give priority attention to these tasks.
The President underscored that public safety begins with the personal responsibility of every citizen, while negligence and carelessness remain among the main causes of disasters.
“Many accidents resulting in numerous casualties could have been prevented if everyone had conscientiously performed their duties. Public safety is built on the conduct of each individual. Discipline, vigilance and responsibility are the foundation of a progressive and safe society,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Head of State presented state awards to a number of citizens in recognition of their courage and selfless service in the line of duty.
