Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was informed about the outcomes of the first year of Kazakhstan’s presidency in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-building Measures in Asia. Special attention was paid to the ongoing work on the CICA’s institutional development as one of the priorities of the Secretariat’s current activities.
In this regard, Kairat Sarybay reported about the implementation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s initiatives on the creation of the Council of Eminent Persons and the transformation of the Forum of CICA Analytical centers into a permanent advisory platform.
During the meeting, President Tokayev was also informed that about 50 events were held within the CICA aimed at strengthening confidence and cooperation on the Asian continent.
In addition, Kairat Sarybay spoke about the main results of the recent sixth CICA’s Foreign Ministers meeting, as well as shared plans for preparing to the upcoming VI CICA Summit in Nur-Sultan in 2022.
The President of Kazakhstan emphasized the importance of high-efficiency preparation for the upcoming summit, including the elaboration of its substantive part and organizational aspects.
