Following their one-on-one meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Umaro Sissoco Embaló held expanded talks involving official delegations from both countries.
Welcoming the guest, the President of Kazakhstan praised the visit, stressing its exceptional importance for the development of bilateral relations.
– This is your first visit to Kazakhstan as the President of Guinea-Bissau. It is a historic visit. I am confident that today’s high-level talks will mark the beginning of a new phase in the cooperation between our countries,– he stated.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that last year marked the 10th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and Guinea-Bissau. According to him, this milestone lays a solid foundation for further deepening mutually beneficial partnerships.
– Over the years, we have built a relationship based on mutual respect, support and strong friendship. We are confident that there is considerable potential for developing cooperation in various fields, especially in the economic and trade spheres. I see your visit as an important step in strengthening the ties between our countries,– the President Tokayev added.
In response, Umaro Sissoco Embaló expressed gratitude to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the people of Kazakhstan for their warm welcome
– My visit to your country today reflects our shared desire to strengthen friendly relations and cooperation between Bissau and Astana,– he noted.
The President of Guinea-Bissau highlighted the successful cooperation between the two countries in multilateral frameworks. He supported Kazakhstan's position on the reform of the United Nations and other international organizations.
The parties discussed a wide range of cooperation opportunities in promising areas such as agriculture, transport and logistics, the mining and metallurgical industry, finance, digitalization, and telecommunications technology.
