The President held discussions with Xiaomi’s senior management on prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan is committed to building a modern digital economy, advancing artificial intelligence, and fostering a high-tech industry.
He noted the growing popularity of the Xiaomi brand in the region. Given the company’s extensive experience in implementing cutting-edge technologies, it was proposed to explore joint projects in AI, big data, cloud services, and digital platforms.
Lu Weibing outlined Xiaomi’s strategic goals, highlighting plans to adopt a more structured distribution model in Kazakhstan and Central Asia. The agenda also includes training local personnel to operate complex AI systems.
In this context, the President expressed Kazakhstan’s strong interest in expanding cooperation with Xiaomi in electric vehicles, battery technology, and intelligent transportation systems.
President Tokayev reaffirmed the readiness to support Xiaomi’s initiatives aimed at strengthening its presence in the Kazakhstan market and developing a long-term strategic partnership.
