Chairman of the Munich Security Conference Wolfgang Ischinger, President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of France Emmanuel Macron addressed the ceremony’s participants.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s speech at the conference is planned as part of a panel discussion on regional security issues entitled “Geography matters: Update on Central Asia”. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is expected to share his vision of ensuring regional and global security.
About 40 heads of state and government, more than 100 heads of foreign and defense ministries, and influential experts in international relations arrived to Munich to take part in the conference.
The agenda of the 56th MSC includes pressing issues of world development and global security. Conference participants will discuss the issues of trade wars and sanctions, the situation in the middle East, relations between the European Union, the US, Russia, China and other countries, security challenges in Europe, the future of the EU and NATO, as well as contemporary threats in cybersecurity and health care, combating misinformation, etc.
