Participants included President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon, President of the Republic of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Secretary General Nikolay Bordyuzha as well as heads of defence and foreign ministries of the Organisation member states.
The meeting discussed topical issues of strengthening of the collective security system in the region, increase of efficiency of functioning of the Organisation and results of holding of exercise of the collective rapid reaction forces.
Delivering a speech at the gathering, the head of state emphasised the potential threat coming from international terrorist and extremist organisations as one of the major agenda of the meeting.
