Speaking to the Parliament members of both chambers, the Head of the State noted the results of the activity of deputies during the previous session and stressed the importance of continuing work on legislative provision of reforms in the country.
- The Parliament considered and adopted 84 draft laws at the last session. Among them is the Law "On Amendments and Additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan". During the year 15 bills were prepared on your initiative, the President of Kazakhstan.
Emphasizing the results of the conducted political reforms, Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the high responsibility of the Parliament and the Government for the implementation of the tasks set before the state apparatus.
- Today Kazakhstan is implementing a number of strategically important tasks. The Parliament and the Cabinet must take all measures to ensure the implementation of the National Plan, the Address and, in general, all adopted programs, the Head of State said.
The President of Kazakhstan dwelled on certain areas of the society’s development. Thus, Nursultan Nazarbayev made a point of fulfilling the tasks of improving public consciousness and ensuring economic growth.
- This year the new Tax Code Draft is to be submitted to the Parliament. We must significantly improve our tax policy and encourage the business to work transparently. It is necessary to upgrade legislation on special economic and industrial zones. We also need to legislatively provide the National Bank with more opportunities for effective control of banks, the Head of State said.
In addition, the President of Kazakhstan noted the importance of developing the insurance system and the order of turnover of medicines, as well as ensuring information security of the country and implementing law enforcement reform.
- There is a great and critical activity for the Parliament and the whole country. Large-scale tasks and solutions are, in fact, our response to the global challenges of 2017. Modernization requires mobilization of all forces. Under the new conditions, the legislative and executive branches should work constructively, Nursultan Nazarbayev concluded.
