During the meeting, Adilbek Dzhaksybekov reported to the Head of State on social and economic development of the city, implementation of key state programmes and progress in preparation for the upcoming sociopolitical and cultural events.
The President stressed that there is a significant amount of work to be done in Astana.
“This year we will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. In this context, the main theme of Nauryz and the National Unity Day celebrations should be the unity and accord of our multiethnic society. We should start working in this direction today. Another important area is the construction of facilities for the international specialized exhibition EXPO 2017, which as well should be prepared in advance,” Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
The Head of State highlighted the issues relating to the implementation of “Nurly Zhol” new economic policy, which pays special attention to the development of Astana. In particular, the programme envisions modernization of housing and public utilities and infrastructure development of Astana.
The President noted it is necessary to constantly increase the investment potential of the city and support small and medium sized enterprises.
Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed Adilbek Dzhaksybekov to further continue to implement the tasks related to the improvement of conditions in social sphere and human capital assets.
The Head of State stressed the importance of ensuring heating season and concerted efforts of all city services in providing high-quality municipal maintenance.
Following the results of the meeting, the President gave a number of specific instructions.
