Participation in the ceremony of accepting credentials

May 30, 2017

During the ceremony, credentials were presented to the President of Kazakhstan by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors Kim Da-Sik, Republic of Korea, Vladan Matic, Republic of Serbia, Rahmat Pramonto, Republic of Indonesia, and Cesar Manole Armeanu, Romania.

The Head of the State congratulated the ambassadors with the beginning of diplomatic work in Kazakhstan and expressed confidence that their activities would be aimed at strengthening interstate cooperation.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that the start of their diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan is at the beginning of a new historical stage of the country's development.

- Noting the 25th anniversary of independence, Kazakhstan has started the process of third modernization. In addition, the industrialization program is being intensively implemented in the country. We embarked on spiritual modernization with the goal of educating competitive youth. The ultimate goal of these measures is Kazakhstan's joining the 30 developed countries of the world, the Head of State said.

The President of Kazakhstan pointed out the country’s foreign policy, emphasizing Kazakhstan's initiatives to preserve stability and security in the region, as well as measures to ensure further growth and mutual cooperation.

- Kazakhstan follows through its duties as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. We actively participate in conflict resolution processes around the world. One of them is the Syrian conflict. For the first time, representatives of the opposition and the government of Syria sat down at the same negotiating table here in Astana. In a few days Astana hosts the world exhibition EXPO-2017, which will be attended by representatives of more than 100 countries. I believe that you will also take an active part in it, Nursultan Nazarbayev addressed the ambassadors.

In addition, the Head of State noted the results of work to ensure a favorable investment climate, effective use of the country's transit and transport potential, and also stressed the importance of foreign business participation in the implementation of Kazakhstan’s projects.

The President of Kazakhstan drew attention to the fact that from the moment of gaining independence our country has been conducting a constructive dialogue and pragmatic cooperation at the interstate level.

- The Republic of Korea is one of Kazakhstan's key partners in Asia. I highly appreciate the results of my state visit to Seoul last November. For our economy South Korea is one of the largest investors in the region. The efforts of Kazakhstan's diplomacy are aimed at resolving the issue of North Korea exclusively through peaceful negotiations. I believe in peace in this region. We are expecting President Moon Jae In with a visit to Kazakhstan to discuss further ways of developing bilateral relations in all spheres, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The Head of the State noted progress in relations between Kazakhstan and Indonesia, making a point of Astana and Jakarta’s similar vision of political and international issues.

The President of Kazakhstan, having emphasized the high potential for developing trade and economic ties between the two countries, pointed to the need to establish intergovernmental work in this direction.

Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the systematic and consistent development of relations with the Republic of Serbia.

- High-level visits over the past two years have given a good impetus to strengthening cooperation between our countries. We have great potential in further expanding bilateral dialogue and trade and economic ties. I would also like to underscore the participation of Alexander Vucic, the new President of Serbia, in the opening ceremony of EXPO-2017 exhibition, Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The Kazakh leader has stressed that Kazakhstan attaches special importance to the development of relations with Romania.

The President of Kazakhstan noted that Kazakhstan's investments in the energy sector of Romania's economy are an indicator of interstate cooperation between the two countries. Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed interest in promoting cooperation between Astana and Bucharest at a high level.

In conclusion, the Head of State once again congratulated the diplomats on the beginning of their mission in Kazakhstan and wished them success and fruitful work for the sake of strengthening cooperation.
