Through the negotiations, the sides deliberated upon matters of cooperation in the future between Kazakhstan and Chevron in the oil and gas sector.
The Head of State noted the effectiveness of joint implementation of projects in the industry and expressed his gratitude to John Watson for his contribution to this work.
- Kazakhstan has a special relationship with Chevron. We have been cooperating for more than a quarter of a century. I would like to personally thank you for the joint work. We have built mutually beneficial cooperation, the President of Kazakhstan said.
In turn, John Watson expressed gratitude to Nursultan Nazarbayev for the opportunity to discuss the issues of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Chevron, and exchange views on the prospects for their further development.
During the meeting, John Watson introduced Michael Wirth to the Head of State; he takes up the position as the CEO in February 2018.
