The Head of the State was presented with the Armed Forces status report and the implementation of the tasks assigned to the Army.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the positive dynamics of the Armed Forces manning, stressing the need to continue the work organized.
- Military exercises were conducted in winter and summer. The Army’s preparedness is at a good level. There is an improvement in discipline, the President of Kazakhstan said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev drew attention to the issues of re-equipping the Army with new types of weapons and military equipment, social security of servicemen, territorial security and the development of the country’s air defense systems.
Saken Zhasuzakov informed the Head of the State on the implementation program to maintain the fighting efficiency of troops, discipline and law and order in the ranks of the Kazakh army.
- To date, the Armed Forces are staffed by 93%. For comparison, in 2015 the figure was 89%. At the present time, the work is under way to call up officer, sergeant and part of the contract personnel. Regular soldier drafting has grown. This year it is planned to call up for all military branches about 34 thousand conscripts, the Defense Minister informed.
Nursultan Nazarbayev has given a number of specific instructions at the end of the meeting.
