During the meeting Berdybek Saparbayev informed Nursultan Nazarbayev on major results of socio-economic development of the region in 2015, as well as prospects for its further development.
The President stressed that Aktobe region has well developed industry, high growth rates and diversified economy.
“International transport corridor “Western Europe - Western China”, a number of railway lines and gas pipelines run through Aktobe region. Therefore you should develop service centers and create new jobs,” he said.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted it is necessary to carry out wide explanatory work among the population regarding the early elections to the Majilis of Parliament.
“The global crisis has affected many countries of the world. Therefore it is important to ensure the country’s social stability, employment, financial support of small and medium-sized businesses,and implementation of the Nurly Zhol programme,” he said.
Berdybek Saparbayev noted the people’s living conditions are improving largely due to the tasks set by the President, as well as currently implemented government programmes.
“Despite the current crisis, we have managed to achieve economic growth. One of the most important tasks is to ensure employment. Today the unemployment rate in the region accounts for 4.8%. We have signed a number of anti-crisis memoranda with large enterprises regarding avoiding redundancies, timely payment of wages and the implementation of collective agreements. In addition, such companies as Kazchrome, Russian Copper Company and Voskhod-Oriel increased salaries for their employees by 10-15% starting from January 1. We are working with other companies in this direction as well,” he said.
Following the meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev charged Berdybek Saparbayev with a number of specific tasks, including increasing the welfare of the population.
