During the meeting the Head of the State noted the significance of efficient information policy and the country's media space security enforcement.
- The newly established Ministry is really important. At present one of the priorities is effective confrontation of various threats in the information space. At the adequate level it is critical to educate the public on the measures taken by the State to stimulate economic growth and welfare of the people, said the President of Kazakhstan.
Nursultan Nazarbayev has also made point of the need for careful approach when forming the senior management of the state media.
- One must employ people that meet the highest requirements, including knowledge of foreign languages and able to conduct a qualitative analysis of the key trends in the information space. In general, the state information policy issues are under my focused attention. Control of the Ministry’s activity will be carried out by me and the Presidential chief of staff. Interference in the work of others is unacceptable, he said.
In turn, the Minister of Information and Communications reported on the measures taken to improve the media work efficiency, as well as the development of government services to the general public under ‘one window’ principle.
D.Abayev also informed the President of Kazakhstan on the Ministry's activities in the field of improving the quality of telecommunications industry functioning, including preparation of the Digital Kazakhstan program.
