During the meeting, Gulshara Abdykalikova noted that participation of the UN Secretary-General in the opening of EXPO-2017 and holding of the UN Day on June 13, testifies to the increased attention of the Organization to the exhibition agenda. The theme of EXPO-2017 is closely connected with the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, providing universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy sources.
The Secretary of State also thanked the United Nations representatives for consistent support of the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan to establish the Center for Green Technologies and Investments "Future Energy" based on EXPO.
The sides exchanged views on the course and prospects of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the UN, including actualization of joint projects in the social and economic sphere, in the field of gender equality, protection of children's rights, environment, civil service, and the establishment of the UN Hub in multilateral diplomacy in Almaty .
At the end of the meeting Gulshara Abdykalikova invited Cihan Sultanoglu to take part in the upcoming international forum "Women for Future Energy", which is to be held on August 31 this year as part of "Astana EXPO-2017".
