Final meeting of the Commission for Kazakhstan State Prize in Literature and Art chaired by Kazakhstan’s Secretary of State Gulshara Abdykalikova

The Commission members, being representatives of the national creative intelligentsia, listened to the information of Culture and Sports Minister A.Muhamediuly on the three-month discussion of selected works and had a free exchange of views.

The Commission, voting by ballot, has appointed the candidates for the Republic of Kazakhstan State Prize in Literature and Art in 2016, who will be introduced to the Head of State. The awarding event will traditionally take place on the eve of Independence Day.

The State Prize in Literature and Art is the highest recognition of literature and art personalities by the nation. The prize is awarded to the citizens of Kazakhstan for outstanding works of fiction and art, popularly accepted as particularly critical contribution to the national culture development.
