Kazakhstan is taking part in the World Economic Forum (WEF) on a constant basis. The current forum is devoted to new directions of further cooperation with the Middle East countries. As particular attention was given to cooperation with this region, the Kazakhstani delegation had been chaired by the President Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Within the framework of the forum Head of the state met with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Hosni Mubarak.
In the name of the people of Kazakhstan and himself personally Head of the state congratulated Hosni Mubarak on his 80th anniversary and informed that he had been awarded the Order of Altyn Kyran (Order of the Golden Eagle) for significant contribution into strengthening friendly relations with Kazakhstan. Today this award was presented to Hosni Mubarak. Nursultan Nazarbayev wished the Egyptian president strong health, prosperity and success in his work.
In his turn, Hosni Mubarak awarded Nursultan Nazarbayev with the Order of Great Nile. It is a highest award of the Arab Republic of Egypt, which is granted to heads of countries for their prominent contribution into strengthening bilateral relationship.
During the meeting Nursultan Nazarbayev noted it was not accidentally that such important global event as World Economic Forum is being taken place in Egypt. This fact emphasizes significant contribution made by your country into strengthening stability and economic development of the region, the Kazakhstani leader said.
The sides discussed issues on broadening trade and economic cooperation. It was noted that Kazakhstan and Egypt have good prospects for cooperation in agriculture, metallurgy, the chemicals industry, oil and gas sector, the pharmaceuticals and other such industries
Head of the state emphasized that in order to broaden trade, economic and investment cooperation it is necessary to use the entire potential of the Intergovernmental commission and Kazakhstani-Egyptian Business Council.
Nursultan Nazarbayev and Hosni Mubarak discussed issues on regional policy and world affairs as well as issues on cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
