President Nazarbayev Continues Touring Kazakhstan's Western Regions

President Nazarbayev visited the Mangistau Region where he took part in the meeting devoted to the 35th anniversary of the region.

Addressing the participants of the meeting, President Nazarbayev noted the Mangistau Region is actively developing nowadays and has a special place in the country’s economy. The large investment projects are successfully realized here. Starting from the beginning of this year 12 million tons of oil and 2, 7 billion cubic meters of gas were produced. The investment mega-project “Land-Sea-Sky” has been adopted. The construction of a new “Aktau-City” and the “Mangyshlak-Bautino” and “Yeraliyevo-Kuryk” railway sections has started.

President Nazarbayev also familiarized himself with the work carried out within the framework of the State Program on Development of Kazakhstan’s Sector of the Caspian Sea. The head of state drew attention to the need of substantial increase Kazakhstan’s share in the large projects realized within the framework of the program.

President Nazarbayev also set specific tasks to the region’s administration on social and economic development of the region’s potential.

In his address the head of state summed up the working trips to the Aktyubinsk and the Western Kazakhstan Region. The President emphasized the western region’s economic boost. Large investment projects are being realized as well as social and cultural objects are being constructed.

President Nazarbayev drew attention to the development of trade and economic cooperation with Russian border regions.

Later, the President visited a new school in the Munaili District where he toured the classrooms, talked to the teachers and schoolchildren.

Addressing the village’s residents, President Nazarbayev noted the school has been built within the framework of the “100 schools and 100 hospitals” state program outlined in the President’s Address to the People of Kazakhstan.

Later, the President visited the Bautino village in the Tubkaragan District where he examined offshore oil operations bases. The large investment projects to be realized in the Mangistau Region were presented to the head of state.

President Nazarbayev also familiarized himself with the work carried out within the framework of the State Program on Development of Kazakhstan’s Sector of the Caspian Sea. The head of state drew attention to the need of substantial increase Kazakhstan’s share in the large projects realized within the framework of the program.

Later, the President visited Taras Shevchenko memorial museum.  
 
At the end of the trip, the President visited a new polyclinic in the Tupkaragan District that can admit 100 persons per day. The district’s residents can be delivered both primary medical care and first aid and carried out diagnostic investigations.
