Kassym-Jomart Tokayev visited “Alem” school of coding, Astana Hub - International Hub for IT Startups and the Astana IT University. All facilities are located on the basis of the “Astana EXPO-2017”.
At the “Alem” coding school, the President of Kazakhstan was acquainted with the training program. During the conversation with the students, he noted the demand and relevance of the IT sphere worldwide.
“The task of Kazakhstan is to keep up with global trends. The most important thing is to move in line. Otherwise we might be thrown away the world development. We need to teach young people all these skills in order to involve them into this sphere. We have very capable young people who seek to gain knowledge,” the Head of State underscored.
Students told to Kassym-Jomart Tokayev how to learn coding without teachers, lectures, assessments and other elements of traditional education.
Right after the coding school Kazakhstan’s President visited the Astana Hub - International Hub for IT Startups. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was presented several startup projects: “INUI Software” - eSports platform for matchmaking, automated trading platform, “Tastamat” - mobile pedestals, “Clockster”, the system of recording the arrival and departure of employees using biometrics, Billboard video - outdoor color electronic billboards, as well as other projects that are being implemented on the basis of the Astana Hub.
While visiting the Astana IT University, President Tokayev was informed about the main activities of the University and showed classrooms, laboratories.
The Head of State urged students to get a good education in order to work successfully for the benefit of Kazakhstan.
“The University was established on the initiative of the First President - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev. I have no doubt that the university will be prestigious and most importantly prepare skillful specialists. The better you learn, the more chances you will have in this difficult and unpredictable life,” President Tokayev said.
