Under preparations for the World Winter Student Games 2017 modern sports facilities have been built. This will boost involvement of broad layers of population, including children and young people, in a healthy lifestyle and sports, he said.

Ice arena for 3 thousand viewers is designed and suitable for competitions in ice hockey. It is planned that after the Student Games Halyk Arena will be the home for the urban playground hockey teams, the center of youth sports development, as well as popular skating of the public. The complex is also meant for concert performances, cultural events, and is fitted with modern lighting and sound equipment.
