The Head of State expressed confidence that Han Zheng’s visit to Kazakhstan will help strengthen bilateral trade and economic relations.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, congratulating the interlocutor on successful holding of One Belt, One Road Forum, noted that Xi Jinping’s idea of reviving the Great Silk Road received the support of the international community and proved its viability.
The President of Kazakhstan expressed the opinion that the recent meeting of Leader of Nation Nursultan Nazarbayev with the Chairman of the People's Republic of China and the agreements reached at it were a significant step towards strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations.
- Building good neighborly relations with China is one of the key priorities of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy. Political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between our countries are a model of mutually beneficial and effective interstate cooperation. China is Kazakhstan’s largest foreign trade partner. The volume of bilateral trade shows steady growth, the Head of State said.
In turn, the Vice Premier noted that this was his first visit to Kazakhstan, and our country made a very good impression on him.
- Over the years of independence, Kazakhstan has been developing steadily; the country's economy is growing. We are sincerely glad to develop our relationship, Han Zheng concluded.
The meeting also discussed actualization of joint Kazakh-Chinese projects, increasing the volume of Kazakh exports of organic agricultural products, use of transboundary rivers, and tourism development.
Special attention was paid to cooperation in transport and logistics. In particular, the sides discussed prospects for using the potential of a joint terminal in the port of Lianyungang and a dry port in Khorgos-Eastern Gate FEZ, and increase in the volume of transit container traffic.
